Biorock structures being used for experiments in reef rehabilitation in the Gilis, Lombok, and Permuteran, Bali. The Biorock process uses an elctrical current to stimulate coral growth on the metal frame. However there has been some debate about the effectiveness of the technique, especially when compared to simply stabilising the rubble substrate of a damaged reef.
