The big ‘stage’ in the centre of Kampala is a mess of matutus, the minibuses that are the main means of getting around the city. I managed to climb up to the roof of a shopping centre on the edge of the ‘stage’, as it is only from above that you can appreciate how the hundreds of matutus are actually organised.
Unfortunately, this ‘stage’ is also where many of the babies that are abandoned in Kampala every year are found.

WOW! Reminds me of Ghana where I spent 9 months – such a great continent…. A little different to Asia, hey Matt???
I love the first pic – a wonderful convergence of such a wild mix-match of patterns and shapes
From the ground it is chaos and more than a little dodgy – lots of pickpockets… But from above actually quite beautiful! Kampala is a great city, thoroughly recommend it for a few days.
Great shots Matt; looks like organised chaos. Welcome home. Let’s hook up when you’ve settled back. We’re in Sunderland for a wedding end of the month but not too bad apart from that….
Just checked out the rest of the shots you’ve posted – your client should be thrilled…let me know how it goes.
